▶Pusan National University College of Dentistry, Plazmap, and Hoowon EDI Signed a Joint Research Agreement

The Pusan National University College of Dentistry, led by Dean Kim Yong-deok, and the Department of Dental Life Sciences Research Institute, headed by Director Yoo Mi-hyun, signed a trilateral business agreement on February 2nd with bio-plasma deep tech company Plazmap Co., Ltd., and dental implant development and production company Hoowon EDI.

The purpose of the agreement is for Professor Heo Jungbo, representing Pusan National University College of Dentistry, to collaborate with the three institutions to evaluate and clinically verify plasma technology for improving osseointegration performance of dental implants.

Plazmap, represented by CEO Lim Yubong, is commercializing plasma technology (branded as ACTILINK) to enhance the osseointegration performance of implants and expand its application areas to dentistry, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and dermatology. It is particularly growing in the dental market as a solution for surface treatment of implants, prosthetics, and bone graft materials.

Hoowon EDI, led by CEO Cha Ji-hyun, is a specialized implant company supplying products optimized for patient oral environments, with excellent manufacturing technology, cleaning methods, and digital-based processes to maximize biocompatibility.

Professor Heo Jungbo stated, "It is our responsibility as clinical researchers and the role of the university to facilitate the application of dental medical devices incorporating new technologies to achieve the best results in clinical settings." He expressed his determination to collaborate with the rapidly growing research teams of the two companies and outstanding professors at Pusan National University to develop the best medical devices through joint research.
